Atlantis Program

The OSU Materials Science Program has entered into an agreement with Saarlandes University (Saarbrucken, Germany) and Lulea University of Technology (Lulea, Sweden) to offer a unique bachelors degree program focused on creating a new kind of engineer with a global perspective that will enable them to operate in the complex multinational workplace of the future.

The degree program, funded jointly through the U.S. Department of Education and the European Commission, will provide opportunities for engineering students from the Pacific Northwest and Europe to receive a dual bachelors degree in Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering. The unique format of the program will provide travel stipends for U.S. students to spend their Junior year in Europe, studying at both Lulea and Saarlandes. European students will also travel to the U.S. to complete their Senior year at Oregon State.

Students who complete the program will receive two bachelors degrees in the four year program. A B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from OSU and a B.S. in Materials Science from Saarlandes University.
